Special recognition goes to our club sponsor, Leigh Day, whose support has paved the way for numerous accomplishments including:
1. Elevating Safety: LDN RIDERS has improved safety by facilitating the training of 8 Ride Captains through Levels 1 and 2 British Cycling Leadership programmes.
2. Embracing Diversity: The club has taken significant strides towards inclusivity by organising rides specifically tailored for female, trans, and non-binary cyclists. LDN RIDERS is committed to ensuring that cycling is a welcoming and safe space for all members of the LGBTQ+ community.
3. Amplifying Awareness: The club has successfully raised awareness for both itself and its charity partner, Not A Phase, through impactful initiatives such as the Pride Month film 'Shifting Gears' and active participation in London Pride.
The Pride Month campaign, in particular, was a monumental success, raising thousands of pounds for Not A Phase's MISFITS programme, which creates safe fitness spaces for the trans community.
But LDN RIDERS is’nt resting on its laurels; in fact, it's only gaining momentum:
Membership Growth: The club's membership has seen consistent growth, with 22 new members joining in August alone. With over 400 members and a thriving online community, LDN RIDERS continues to attract cyclists and allies from all walks of life.
Ride Revolution: The dedicated Ride Captains have been the driving force behind more than 280 organised rides since January, surpassing last year's total by a staggering 100 rides. Members are not only cycling more frequently but also covering greater distances and pushing their limits.
Building Connections: Beyond the pedals, LDN RIDERS has become a haven for forging lifelong friendships. The club's commitment to creating a supportive community extends to organising workouts with fellow LGBTQ+ sports clubs, hosting social events, and planning cycling adventures abroad.
These accomplishments wouldn't have been possible without the dedication and passion of:
Our incredible Volunteer Committee.
Our tireless Ride Captains.
Our adventurous members who cycled from London to Paris and those who conquered a lap of Greater London for charity.
Lawrence, whose orchestration of two unforgettable cycling trips to Mallorca enriched our close bonds.
And, above all, our extraordinary community of LGBTQ+ cyclists and allies who have made LDN RIDERS what it is today.
